New car guy show - Cuban Chrome

Coming to Discovery channel in mid july. This is one aspect of Cuba that fascinates me. Being a car guy since I was a young boy I cant wait to watch this series. Cuban car guys go thru hell keeping the old iron running.

I saw this as well. Its like everything is Cuba Cuba Cuba! now. I see billboards advertising

flights to Cuba and even on Shark Week they had a program about the sharks of Cuba.

Interestingly. "Epic Drives" went to Cuba 2 years ago and featured one of the same characters, Dmitrio.

My guess is the "Cuban Chrome" producers saw him in this and decided to get a series out of it.

Dmitrio shows up at 6:49 in the Epic Drives film below, and 27 seconds in in the Cuban Chrome trailer above.

He reminds me of Hamlet, the way he tells a story.

Jorge, that is because this whole Cuban deal has probably been in the works for a lot longer than we know. Think about how long it takes to shoot and produce a TV show. Discovery had to have been let in on some amount of information about the easing of restrictions with Cuba. Not saying it is a bad thing, just interesting. It makes me wonder how much further along the road we are to ending the embargo? I bet it happens before the end of BO's term.
