Popular Post El Presidente Posted June 8, 2015 Popular Post Posted June 8, 2015 We had a great time at the AMICiGAR blind Tasting. Many thanks to AJ Patel who provided the cabinet of Churchills from 1989. I got to spend quite a bit of time with AJ and he is certainly a man who understands the essence of giving. Top bloke and please support him (LCDH London http://www.havahavana.com/) if you ever get the chance. I picked the cigar wrong. The timber, salt, flowers aspect had me convinced it was a Sancho Panza Corona Gigantes. I started to have doubts at the half way mark as it changed dramatically. Beautiful cigar and many thanks to AJ It would be fair to say I was closer than Rob Fox who called it a Cohiba Robusto.......I believe Stuart may have said a Guantanamera ...all in good fun! Location and organisation superb. Company outstanding and still a full evening ahead! Punch Churchill 1989 7
Drguano Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 The Ristorante Torre Normanna was the venue for the slow smoke competition and the vintage tasting. Fantastic site. I have now idea about the history of this building. 1
Drguano Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 Is it an 89 or a 98? 98. Here is the box that we all signed: 4

Mr. Japan Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Thank you for sharing Rob, and hope that more members will show up in Havana 2016 :-) The Punch Churchill was 88-89, ( not 98) :-) 4
mk05 Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Sounds like the cab from his emailer a couple months back.
Drguano Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Thank you for sharing Rob, and hope that more members will show up in Havana 2016 :-) The Punch Churchill was 88-89, ( not 98) :-) Molte grazie, Gino! Well, I knew it had an 8 and a 9 in the year! After tasting blind until 4:30 that morning, Rob had to remind me that the cigar goes in the mouth. And I will see you in Havna in 2016 but I hope it will be sooner.
El Presidente Posted June 15, 2015 Author Posted June 15, 2015 The Punch Churchill was 88-89, ( not 98) :-) ...I was not at my "spiritual" best on the afternoon in question. 88-89 it was. Amended. 1
Mr.T Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 What a treat to smoke a vintage Punch Churchill! Thanks for sharing....
