shlomo Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 Cigars need age to marry tobacco. If 2 different cigars are touching each other during the aging process doesn't this make them marry and contribute flavours to each other? Through osmosis? If that were the case, I'm buying 3000 Gunatanameras and one box of BHKs. Stick them in together for 10 years and BOOM, BHK Guants! In all seriousness, picking flavours out of cigars is all in one's head and perception. At the end of the day, its just tobacco and nothing else excpet for the random juices and liquors they spray on the leaves.. 1

shlomo Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 Is there a reason why some aficionado's prefer cabs over dress boxes? I like round cigars Me too. Some believe the air flow within a bundle is better for aging as well. No science behind it afaik though. Also, I would always prefer to avoid putting paper, cardboard and glue in my humidor as well.
santela Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 Is there a reason why some aficionado's prefer cabs over dress boxes? I like them round. But also in my experience, during summer the dress boxes are more likely to mold, I don't know what the explanation here is but I think it has something to do with the paper used in those dress boxes.
fookite Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 I put a few different cigars in the same box in my humidor and now all my marevas look like robustos.
CatchNRelease Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 Of course I store singles together, no difference between storing them in a humi vs cab
saintsmokealot Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 I do mix different cigars in the same box/humidor but I don't allow them to touch each other. I usually separate with a cedar sheet to keep any influence from each other. I also have separate humidors for NC's.
