It's relaxed a bit over the years, but you'd have to go back to the 70s to find a time when it was "fuller". And those bottles aren't cheap. If you're on cask strength you've probably just had a change of palate.

Is it a bottle you've had for a while? Perhaps too much oxidation took place.

It was a pour from my local bar that sells a ton of whisky. Besides cocktails, scotch and bourbon are what they do.

Well spoken. It is certainly a peat monster and I love it for that but it's that balance of richness and meatiness that makes it spectacular.
