Ryan Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 I was lucky enough to run into Angel and Gustavo from the group "Duo Sauce" in the Lobby of the Parque Central Hotel in Havana one evening. I asked them over to my place the following morning for an hour or so. I played them some Planxty (traditional Irish group) to see what they thought. Turns out Gustavo, on the right, had an Irish grandmother. 1
Ryan Posted March 8, 2015 Author Posted March 8, 2015 Then they played this. Somewhat clichéd but brought a tear to my father's eye all the same. 1
Ryan Posted March 8, 2015 Author Posted March 8, 2015 Then this. Handel's aria, Lashia Ch'io Pianga. I like this a lot, one of my favourite versions. So I suppose, not really Cuban music at all! But at least shows some of the talent out there. 1
JohnnyC Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 Nice perspective of Cuban Musicians. You Father was not the only one with tears in his eyes listening to Danny Boy. Just in time for St Paddy's day. Thanks Again Andy for sharing
El Presidente Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 Beautiful I love what you find in Cuba when you have no intention to find anything at all.
Guest rob Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 Brilliant, Andy! Thanks so much for sharing a special moment.
