I hope all of you are well and I look forward to getting back tomorrow! I was asked earlier in the week to take some photo's of what is rejected when I go through a case of cigars. I think these

keep in mind that the cigar trade is one of these business where most retailers have less knowledge of the product than many of their customers. You can hear stupidities of the same ilk everywhere…

I haven't time to go into it now but I promise to try over the weekend. In short form: "It is nothing" ....it only constitutes say 3-5% of a cigar. "it is everything"...a pinch of Saffron adds

I am wondering if a lot of rejected boxes that are sent back end up at grey market vendors.

This is great, Rob. Thank you.

I think these boxes of Romeo y Julieta Short Churchill explain it pretty well.

Another interesting nuance to this product! Very informative... What do you recommend as a good reference point for judging cigar wrapper color? Does one even exist?

Is there a good summary of bad box years/factories to use as a guideline when buying cigars online and with limited experience?

Not really.

Unless you know what you are doing, avoid 99-01.

Very hard to go wrong too far wrong with 19-22 stock and likely that is what you will be looking at.

Factory codes? Stick with the majors if you have a choice but don't sweat it too much.

You can search for the major factory codes over these years.
