I tried one of these for the first time yesterday, and here are a few of my thoughts. It was from a June 05 box.

The wrapper was of a fairly light, though uniform shade. The wrapper had a few large veins, but I've seen much worse. The draw was fairly easy - not too bad, but my personal preference is for a slightly tighter draw - which was surprising considering that the cigar had rather a firm feel to it.

The first 1/2 inch was rather bland, with a slightly bitter after taste, which suggests that this was nearing its sick period and would need a bit of a rest in the 'dor. However, this soon passed, and the flavour changed to a very pleasant earthy medium bodied tobacco core, with quite a strong hint of sugary sweetness - more so than I have ever tasted in a cigar before. The last third became a bit hot and harsh, so I left it at that.

This cigar was pretty damn good at the moment, and I'm very confident that it has a bright future ahead of it.

I had my hands on one of these the other day, but I'm determined to leave them alone, so I put it back in the humidor (the cold temps helped the decision as well).

I've tried one of these, and enjoyed it, but remember thinking it would be even better down the line.

The couple I've tried "right off the truck" from my box of 25 (FEB05) have beautiful shiny, copper-colored wrappers and were outstanding. I'm just letting them age and have gotten back on a Monte 2 kick as of late--but this is certainly a winner of a cigar!

Thanks for the review.

i've only had one so far, but i have a 10 count box now. i'd really like to let these age for awhile, but if all the forums i'm on keep having threads talking about them it'll never happen.

» Already is my top piramide.

Only smoked 2 out of my box of 25. the were tight draw but flavorful. Yet they were only in humi for 5 days. Imusty try another for they been sitting for a few months now.

I recieved four boxes of ten and they all have pretty dark wrappers. I have finished one box and they are fine but not up to all the rave that I hear on the net, IMHO.

These need more time than my fresh SD4. I have BBF, SCdlH La Punta, Monte #2 and Dip #2 that are more ready to smoke.

I smoked one a couple of weeks ago, starting to really come around, glad I've got a half dozen boxes sitting and waiting for about 5 years :-D

After reading this I pulled out the 2- 10 count boxes ( one light and one dark wrapped) in the humi to give them a look and realized that I had only tried 1 from each box. If my memory serves me correctly the lighter wrapped ones wear decidedly better.

I had have 5 or 6 from a 25ct box. They have varied from outstanding, to nothing special. Very inconsistent. Mine are all a pale olive/tan.

My favorite pyramide bar none. I've had 4 or 5 and have a box of 10 on the way.

The last one I had was the best, just getting ready to come into their own.
