TiminBC Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 Travelling when our dollar was 60 cents, now that hurt. It does not stop me from doing so but it hurts
shlomo Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 Would have bought some Genios, possibly BRC during the current sale, but no chance with a 20% add on. Cigar purchases so far this year have been only some REs when the opportunity arose. So, I suppose the tanking dollar has been beneficial in a backhanded sort of way. Travel plans for spring and or summer are very much affected as well.
Pilsner14 Posted January 27, 2015 Author Posted January 27, 2015 Very true. Any estimates on how far it could fall?
JohnS Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Very true. Any estimates on how far it could fall? I would say forecasts would be similar for the Australian dollar for the next 12 months, which analysts say would be US75c by the end of 2015. The truth is that no one knows what the CAD will be in 12 months. Forex trading is incredibly difficult, 95% of traders lose because there is a lot of short-term gains and losses along the way.

Whaddya mean by the end of 2015? I'm expecting the AUD to tank to US70c by the end of March!
Diamondog Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 BOC will drop rates by another .25 on Mar 4, watch for it, watch it tank further! US will hold patience language tomorrow no change at least until June maybe even as late as Sept.

I find financial institutions hedge their bets with forecasting so their estimates tend to be conservative.
