jjboods Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 Hi all. Glad to be part of the site. I'm curious...I have an ST Dupont Xtend Maori Tattoo lighter. I can't seem to find them for sale(used obviously) anywhere and was wondering if anyone knows if they are at all valuable. I've have mine for probably 10 years now. Just curious. Thanks!
GodofFire Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 I believe Tobacco Grove in Maple Grove MN has them. They don't really have a website to buy from but you can call them. I know they do sell things over the phone and ship out in the past.
Popular Post Cohiba Stevie Posted December 11, 2014 Popular Post Posted December 11, 2014 They are no longer marketed as 'x-tend' they are sold as St Dupont Maxijet. Any x-tend varieties with limited edition prints on them are discontinued... Interesting fact: many people mistakenly covet their x-tend lighters because they believe them to better than the maxijet. This is because the xtend had 'made in france' printed on them when the current maxijet is made in china. In actual fact the piezo-electric ignition system, the torch jet, fuel inlet and fuel tank have always been made in china. Its only the outer shell and ignition button that were made in france. Nowadays the whole lighter is made in china, but contrary to popular belief the older x-tends are not more reliable than the maxi-jets. They are the same lighter inside. Source: a guy from St Dupont told me when i called them to enquire about where i could get a used ligne 2 serviced. I asked the question and he was happy to discuss it. 6

I have the same lighter. It's not really valuable at all - but it is an outstanding performer! Keith (CanuckSARTech) is desperately looking for one, btw.

And that could of course in no way be related to the fact that S.T. only has the new ones to sell (quite desperately - they are struggling as a company). 1
ramon_cojones Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 so i wonder what he'll say when you inquire about the ligne torch and whether its contents are made in china also despite it's $400 price tag
Rushman Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 I love my 7 yr old chrome xtend.......don't care who made it Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
CanuckSARTech Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 Yeah, as Claus said, I have always been jealous of his. He got it for a steal a couple of years ago, right at a time when I was looking for one myself. I actually managed to score an old, dusty, but-unused one just two months or so ago. The brown and black Maori design makes this simple but elegant lighter freakin' awesome. Haven't had a chance to use it in a review yet, but plan to very soon.
fokker4me Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 I have a few Xtend and Maxi jet lighters, I have found the Maxi to hold up longer then the Xtend. They are not really worth anything preowned like others have said and when I sent one back after 2 years because the tank had a leak, it would have been almost the same price to buy another. I won't do that again.
Bclass1 Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 In the market for a Maxijet as we speak..just want a reliable, single flame torch.
