Optic101 Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 Bolivar Royal Corona Box code ULA MAY 14 Just got this box a few weeks ago from Czar. My first BRC. 4:20 pm - 5:25 pm Water Light wrapper, firm to the touch, good draw Start medium strength and flavor. Lots of smoke and dirty grey ash. Taste raw honey with just a touch of sweetness, toasted bread. Like how it starts. An inch in I got some slight pepper tickling and a light woodiness. Perfect burn at this moment, ash shows the good construction and a lot of smoke. 2nd 3rd The strength goes up just a bit, the flavor change to earthiness. Very pleasant. Overlay of earthiness, a bit of wood and toasted bread is moving in and out. End of 2nd 3rd, the earthiness is fading out, strength goes back to a nice medium, getting a smooth peppery flavor and sometimes again a touch of sweetness. Last third. Strength jumps to medium full, flashes of pepper. Conclusion: A very nice cigar with a perfect burn and great construction.
bradbrennan Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 Smoking tough these days, Werner, like it, keep them coming!
Optic101 Posted October 27, 2014 Author Posted October 27, 2014 Was happy this was a nice one. The last 3 EL's didn't do it.
gr8eman Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 Smoked one last night. Salty up front, really nice flavors in the middle, and then the hardcore Bolivar came out in the 3/3 with youth showing. I say 1-2 years and these will be 90+.
tjohn7 Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 Just ordered a nice box of these last week. Glad to hear you enjoyed it!

dflan82 Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 Nice review. The 2014 BRCs that I have had were all excellent cigars. Do you prefer these or the Bolivar Petite Coronas?
mikek Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 Very good review, excellent cigar! I haven't been out of these in A couple years! Right at the minute I cant remember what the box code is early 2013 on the ones I'm smokeing now.. Next box will be ULA ! I keep A few older Bolivar tubes in my humi, when headed out and about I load one up! Love that med/full Bolivar profile!
Walt69 Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 Just picked a box up. Can't decide if i should force myself to put them away for awhile, or fire one up rott! j know i'm supposed to wait, but i'm an impatient man lol.
Optic101 Posted January 26, 2015 Author Posted January 26, 2015 Most of time I try one to see how they are and get a benchmark.
Optic101 Posted January 26, 2015 Author Posted January 26, 2015 Nice review. The 2014 BRCs that I have had were all excellent cigars. Do you prefer these or the Bolivar Petite Coronas? Fresh I prefer the PC even these are nice already.
purpleloki Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Thanks for the review. May have to grab a box!
PuroDan Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 I have smoked two of the Boli RC from 2014, from a trade. Bolivar is definitely my favorite brand. I really enjoy the second third, and last third of this cigar. You get that Boli richness of earth, cream, chocolate, coffee, and spice. Although this is not as strong as the BBF, it is still a very rich and complex cigar. A wonderful smoking experience.
