I'm Currently reading a book which mentions this district South West of Havana produced/produces 'Creole, Virginia tobacco and Connecticut wrapper leaf (from Connecticut seed) intended for foreign manufacturers, notably in Europe'

I'm guessing these are some of the European 'dry cigars' that claim to have Cuban tobacco?

Yeah I had assumed export of raw leaf had kind of been eliminated after the revolution, but the book I'm reading is from the late 90's.

There does seem to be a few companies mainly jn Europe who sell cigars that they say are made from Cuban tobacco, not Cuban seed. They are never premium cigars, so I'm thinking the export still happens but it's not great quality, similar to remidos?
