Fosgate Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 I could put this in the food section but a friend sent me this and I think it falls into more comedy than anything. The reactions of people from different countries is hilarious but what about when people try American food? First up, Americans try Asian food. 1
StingMeadery Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 That was really funny "To the left, to the left" haha
greenpimp Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 "This is just endless terror..." Hilarious!!
tjohn7 Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 I hate to say it but I've said nearly everything in these videos about foreign food. Picky eater!
rmill3r Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 The guy washing everything down with a wine glass of Knob Creek knows what's up... 3
Lasabar Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 I wonder how good those snacks were from the other countries? I could think of other snacks that are tastier (and other snacks that are worse) to showcase America.
Fosgate Posted September 30, 2014 Author Posted September 30, 2014 I find it funny as hell. Growing up in the Midwest U.S. in the 70's and 80's in a small town Norwegian heritage community. Meals were typically some meat (pork, beef, duck, pheasant, goose, chicken) potatoes and a vegetable like peas, carrots, corn, green beans. The holidays we would break out the traditional food like Lefse, Krumbkaka, Muh, Spitchmur and that god awful Lutefisk that everyone hears the legend but still curious to try it. Less known is it's evil cousin Surstromming that my grandfather used to open the can, in a trash bag, in the back yard! (yeah it's the worst edible thing you will ever smell). I didn't even eat mexican food (taco bell) or chinese (Americanized) until I was a senior in high school. I went into the Army and went overseas to Europe for a couple years that really opened my pallet and now I prefer more non traditional foods in this area, Sushi, Indian, Thai, Mediterranean. I recently tried to take my father out for sushi and he pretty much would not even try it. This from a guy that would down pickled herring and surstromming like it was nothing and show how much he liked it. I imagine if he tried, it would go something like this.
Laynard Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 Proof that taste is subjective. Thanks for sharing!

This is my life story as well And I thought I can eat anything, but I'd struggle with the first video, WOW!! But who doesn't like Hot Tameles, my wife's favorite!!!
MIKA27 Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 "to people who eat everything" LOL! I'm one of those people who can eat anything BUT.. it must be a meal, edible. I mean, duck embryo is not a food, that's just sick. Now give a nice crispy Tarantula... By the way, Chicken feet are pretty good, they serve it at Lucky Chan's Crown Casino, very nice.

I'm not even American and I don't understand how they can not like Twizzers, Jolly Ranchers and Tootsie Rolls. They are amazing IMO.

Rushman Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 Who the %#^# doesn't like froot loops and twizzlers????? I mean come on! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk 1
CaptainQuintero Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 I lost an hour of my life with these vids last night! Agree the selections are a little strange, the Irish snacks were more common in the UK to the ones supposedly from England. A friend in the US did a treat swap similar to this week me, I sent him real beer, tea, chocolates etc and he sent tootsie rolls, twinkies etc. The over whelming taste that I got from most things read chemically, although I loved A&W root beer. A guy in the vid hit on one point, a lot of the ingredients are banned in the EU for being dangerous. I saw in the imported food section of a local store that a famous brand mac n cheese packets here do come with a warning that says van cause problems if you have ADHD or are taking medication for it :s 1
cigardude Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 that was excellent viewing, thanks for the laughs.
