shlomo Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 There have been only one miss with the LCDH releases imo. RE s are always a crapshoot and ELs are even more unreliable. Cannot go wrong with any LCDH....except the Noella....blech, horrid, rancid, cigar.
cigarbreak Posted August 25, 2014 Author Posted August 25, 2014 Im glad to hear the RA Sups are great. Ill be sure to get on them asap and greatly appreciate everyones input!

Regarding the Noella are you talking about the original 2009 release, the recent re-release or both? I haven't noticed any rancidity in either..... Given they're jarred, maybe over humidified? To the other point, I've also had some great RA Superiores of late.

I have not bothered with the re-release, I disliked the original so much.... I tried some from a fresh jar when I bought mine in Cuba 3 years ago or so, tried some 2 years later, tried some singles from trades that were left in ziplocks, or left in my singles area, tried some from other people's jars....I tried it all.... They are a truly great size, I love Upmann in general, I REALLY wanted to like these. I went so far as to buy a jar of these instead of the LGC jar when I had the chance for either while in Cuba 3 years ago....HUGE mistake. Granted I only smoked a dozen or 15 of these, but every one has been an unmitigated disaster. Not a single cigar would even be classified as "good" by me. Forget "great" or "incredible". These all ranged from mediocre to downright disgusting. Again, I knwo tons of people who love them, thats fine...this is just my own 2 cents. FWIW I have never enjoyed a Mag 46, JL 2, QdO Imperiales or Upmann SW either.....but none of my limited experiences with those cigars have been nearly as appaling as the Noella disaster.
BonVivant Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 H.UPMANN Noella Jar 2009 OR - at five years it shows itself amazing and has legs to go for years, years and years... 1

Many do love them, not me though. I thought they were released in '10. Either way, picked mine up a few months after they hit LCDHs in Cuba...4 or 5 years ago I guess
bresdogsr Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 RA Sups would be my first choice. HURR second choice. Hsve not had the other two, but the price pushes me away,.
Rushman Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 I've got both the superiores and royal robustos in my collection and enjoy them both, although I've gifted more than I've smoked. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
