rmill3r Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 My memories of going to my aunt's house and sitting (way too close) to the TV watching Robin Williams as Hook will forever be ingrained in my memory. "Oh, it is you, Peter!" "BANG-A-RANG!" "You lewd, crude, rude, bag of pre-chewed food dude," "I DO NOT BELIEVE IN FAIRIES!" Oh boy . . . I used to rewind that movie as soon as it was over and just watch it again. Between that, Aladdin, Jumanji and Mrs. Doubtfire, it's an oddly surreal celebrity death 2
cns187 Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 just watched the angriest man in brooklyn, I think it was his latest movie if I may be mistaken. Complete foreshawdowing the entire movie and was pretty sad.
AlohaStyle Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 My good friend from San Francisco was in town for business and I met him for dinner last night... Robin Williams name came up and I asked him about Robin living in San Fran as I wasn't sure if that's where he lived mostly. He said yes and that he saw him around occasionally. Said he was actually at the same AA meeting as Robin 2 weeks ago and that he got his 8 year anniversary button for being sober. I didn't realize he was recovering... it's too bad as a lot of people do just fine being sober but no matter what, it can be a roller coaster ride emotionally. I'm not saying that has anything to do with what he decided to do, but just breaks my heart that people can feel so helpless to commit suicide. It's incredible the outpouring of love coming from people that knew him... the world lost a good person.
Fshaw Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 Apparently the news is saying he had early stage Parkinsons but had not disclosed it publicly yet. Poor man, so many demons.
productof82 Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Truly one of a kind. Could make any moment funny. His comedy was unique and no one else could duplicate his delivery.
