Ryan Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 Here's an odd one. I came across this recently. I see on CubanCigarWebsite.com that this band was used from 1962-1966 and the company changed name then so no longer used. http://www.cubancigarwebsite.com/brand.aspx?brand=Cubatabaco This cigar doesn't look 50 years old though. Any ideas? Was this band ever used since 1966? The cigar itself is about 158mm long and 42rg. While I won't reveal the source the provenance is good. 1
Ryan Posted August 8, 2014 Author Posted August 8, 2014 How hard is the foot? Not that hard. Rolled like a regular cigar. There is some give when I squeeze one. Is this a reference to the notion of old cabinet selection cigars having feet composed of 'full leaves' or is there something else?
Havanaaddict Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 From what I know about it is that the ones I have seen come from a Diplomatic Cubatabaco humidor from the 1960s!!! Also in the MRN book he shows (2) Marble jars with 25 coronas in cello with these bands!!! 1

I can't find the section or page with those marble jars in the MRN book, though I'm sure I've seen a picture of marble jars before.
tmac77 Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 What a great find Ryan and in such fine looking condition. Enjoy.
