Hello everyone!

Just wanted to pick your brains regarding what may be worth trying to get him to buy for me while in Europe. I am basically talking about RE's and LE's.

He will be in Dresden (Germany), Vienna (Austria) and Prague (Czech Republic).

Your input is very much appreciated!!!

Germany has some nice REs. Prices are set, so no "deals" to be found really.

Bringing stuff back to the US will be tricky though. I always wondered how you Americans worked around that...?

Depending on timing of the release, the German market will be getting an RA 898 release, but I don't know when.

The German Bolivar releases that I've smoked have been fantastic, but I have no idea on availability.

I look forward to seeing what you end up with!

Yupp. Cabinets of 10. Very puuuurdy. 13 euros, I think.

Had a chat with Alex von Österreichische. Der JL No. 2 ist 10 Euros.

Long story short, may not be worth getting the shorter JL for more price. I would still get them, though. Me personally because I hate the robusto size

I wouldn't mind trying to get a box of Ideales since I already have JL#2's....

Thank you!!!!

Who is Alex von Österreichische-Der?

Yes, seriously. Excuse my ignorance...Didn't know it was a crime...sad.png

"Österreich" means Austria in German. "Österreichische" = austrian. As for "Der", which means "the", it belongs to the next sentence of the post: Der JL No. 2 ist 10 Euros = The JL2 is 10 Euros…

Damn AutoKorrekt on my Blackberry... Mean to say Oesterreich.

Note: it's improper to say 'Name' von 'Place'. it was a title given to people of royalties back in the day like Dukes, Earls, etc [who obviously don't exist anymore]. Rarely anyone is called 'von something' anymore.

But the joke was just that.

Anyways, back to uptalking Austria. Vienna is a really REALLY gorgeous place. Some say it's like what Paris was a few decades ago (all glamorous without being a novelty with all the tourist traps and what not). Tell your mate to really enjoy himself! :)

agree with those that have suggested the Ideales, I did a bit of a smoking tour of Europe last year, and the ideales was by far the best, closely followed by the PL Short robusto from Italy.

I went to this shop, was very helpful. also found an NC regional, didnt think they existed. a Nicaraguan called 'Caruntumi'

Germany has some of the best cigar lounges ive been two. best bet would be to throw some money your mates way and say "Get me anything that says Alemania"

there were cigars in Prague, but i didnt see any regionals, just your normal ones. good luck with the hunt. i found most LCDH's were pretty good if you dropped em an email, say when you or your friend are coming, what did they have in stock and how much

+1 on the LCDHs. many countries under the Euro Shield don't have web buying so they don't list up their stocks (Austria for starters. France too) so you have to contact them directly.

It's not released yet. I hope, it will be released in octobre or novembre. Last times, the ERs were released february the year after.

My advice is school them hard in cigar handling etiquette !

See my post about over humidification...courtesy of a clueless cigar courier ;)

Austria is doing fine re economy and therefor not under the Euro Shield

which is to help struggling countries like Greece and Portugal in the past.

Austria has a law that strictly bans online trade of tobacco goods

be it from the outside or between Salzburg and Vienna.

Hi, i'm from Vienna too. Besides Hazars shop, i can also recommend the shop at "Westbahnhof" they have a nice selection. I can send you a pricelist of almost all the cigars, that are available here. Also, if you want, i can call the shops and ask to reserve a box of the ideales for your friend.
