petey Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 I, of course, find it a little strange that the two are combined but I guess there's some demand for the "non" since they're different or for a change of pace. Prices are typically high for the "nons", further adding to the oddity. Comments from the other part of the world? PJ
Colt45 Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 Assuming you are referring to a merchant who purveys both, perhaps they don't discriminate - simply consider them all cigars..... 2
TiminBC Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 Here in Canada all cigars in stores are expensive. Even a store here called the Cuban Cigar Shop sells some NCs. While we have access to both the balance tends to fall towards CCs in most shops. Other than the name I would not consider it odd. My guess is they offer what people ask for (am I dreaming ?). Here the things I find odd is I can buy a cigar in a store but by law cannot smoke it in any business including where I bought it and soon on any street downtown or any public park.
TheLiquidGator Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 The site am thinking of has some of the lowest prices on My Father Cigars in the world. The My Father #4 lancerro, to my taste, is a fine cigar.
Professor Twain Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 I have cigar friends from all over the world. Many are curious about trying non Cubans and smoke a mixture. It's all about individual tastes.
johnhenry Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 Before finding this place there is three places I bought my cc from and all three have nc.
CooGAR Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 The right Opus X with some age can stand up to anything +1. My all-time favorite cigar is an aged Opus - Fuente Fuente size. It kills me to see someone walk into a tobacco shop, grab an Opus off the shelf and fire it up. I have a cigar buddy that has smoked several OpusX, but didn't understand the fasination (other than hard to find). I gave him a Perfexcion #5 that had 7 years of age and, after smoking, declared it the best cigar he had ever had.
Profmd Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Same thing here in the Toronto area. trend on shelves here is non CC. Because of the price I'm sure more than anything. Love going in and seeing all the new non CC brands and grabbing a few. Variety is the spice of life!! Don't find it strange at all.
TM-US Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 I know what you mean. I found a place that has some My Father and Davidoff stock that is cheaper than I can get them locally, even though we have a minimal cigar tax.
ewipper Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Marc Benden tells me that in Dusselfdorf NCs are a big seller. He is an LCDH. You know in terms of consistency they are more solid.
nikonNUT Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 The site am thinking of has some of the lowest prices on My Father Cigars in the world. The My Father #4 lancerro, to my taste, if a fine cigar. I was thinking the same thing on both counts.
