Ordered several boxes of smokes and realize, it's -22 out right now and those things are going to be sitting in UPS trucks and facilities. Called my in law that works for UPS and he confirmed. Luckily they are coming out of Pennsylvania and coming straight accross through cold weather so at least the eggs will be dead probably. Has anyone had any problems with smokes ordered in winter and lives in sub zero climate?

Just think of it as saving you the trouble of stasing them in the freezer for a week.

They should be fine after a rest in the humi.

My rule of thumb is 4 weeks, but you can rest them for less time if you want

I've seen cracked wrappers from cigars going through freezing areas, but as I recall, those shipments were originating in warm/moist environments, so were probably over-humidified before the freeze. If your sticks are pretty much frozen the whole way, you should be good. Just give them time to slowly warm up before you fire one up.

Another vote for just toss em in the humi and wait a month. I pretty much try to wait a month on any incoming just to let them settle from shipment. I have 6 boxes in bound as we speak but 4 of them are for others as its a group buy I decided to run! I am definitely not worried about it at all.

I've been ordering like a fiend this winter. From Czar, from Canada, from Germany, all delivering to my moderate (temp & Humidity) n. american climate. Out of 200 cigars I've gotten 1 busted wrapper (PSD4 5x3 pack carried back from Hong Kong), and 3 cracked foots. So I'd say the cold in transit is of little effect. All the mail deliveries were expertly wrapped with Rob's by far the best wrapping.
