Hi guys,

I hope everyone is thoroughly enjoying the holiday season with your families and good cigars.

I just got back from a business trip to Monterrey, in Nuevo Leon, Mexico.

Does anyone have any leads on notable cigar spots in the area? I have another trip coming up, and am hoping someone here has been there.

I found a local LCDH in the area, with a bunch of nice guys…but selection left a lot to be desired.

Thanks!

I think there is only the one La Casa del Habano down there in San Pedro... I haven't been over there, but my friends from Monterrey almost always order in. Or get the single form La Casa...

other than that there are great bars and restaurants where you can have a smoke :D

Man I used to love Monterrey when I was young and when it wasn't the "hang the beheaded guy up on the overpass" capital of the world.

I can't provide real input on the cigar scene there. Good luck.

Apparently the place has really been cleaned up in terms of the violence that was typical for the location. Lots of police everywhere, and the airport is full of military. My company puts Monterrey as a "high risk" destination, but not a destination that requires any special approval to travel to. I feel funny even saying that, living in Israel...but i guess every place has its own challenges.

Neuvo Leon, particularly Monterrey, but also San Pedro and San Miguel are beautiful places. I sat at one restaurant that had a mexican woman that would pass between all the diners, and make hot salsa sauces right in front of them, by order. I found mexican food to be delicious!

The only cigar location i found was indeed in San Pedro, a small LCDH..but I was hoping for something more...I know that Mexico has its own Cigar brands (like Te Amo), nothing to compare to CC, but, i still expected there to be a bit more options.

Anyways, I hope someone else has more info....

Thanks
