TM-US Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 I've had a bottle for quite some time now but never got around to it. Now revisiting it on my recent scotch kick, it is phenomenally good stuff. Not as smoky or peaty as the 10, 18, quarter cask or triple wood. Very smooth, floral notes and a nice muted smoke and peat that complements the floral tones. I would highly recommend seeking out a bottle if you can find one. This is the best stuff other than the 25 in my experience.
orangedog Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 The 15 is great but I'd take the 30 over it... which has also long since been discontinued. Sadly. The 18 and 25 are miscalculated derivatives of what filled the green glass bottles of the 15 and 30. Quarter cask is always fun for a bit of change.
Louich Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 It is very unfortunate they discontinued that wonderful dram. It was my favorite of the Laphroaig lineup. I found one not so long ago and was floored when I saw the price. It exploded (150 pounds...) so I had to let it go.
