I want to get a medium size wine cooler to stock my CCs, but normally wine cooler with 36-bottle capacity or less isn't wide enough to fit my large desktop humidor in.... My desktop humidor is about 15 inches long

Does anyone has good recommendation to solve this problem? I bought a lot of singles and stored them in desktop humidor so I really wanna take good care of those sticks...

THANKS,

Howard

Just curious why you would want to put your desk top humidor in the wine cooler. That seems to me to be redundant, but am wondering what you are trying to accomplish. I've never heard of anyone doing that, but maybe I'm just not up on these things.

I've been using a Vintec for a couple weeks now.. Have a few humidity pucks in it.. I just wish I could've afforded to have done it sooner!

These convert rather well with a kit that I make. The conversion is not exactly simple, but you get a high performance humidor as a result. I submit, that my projects when subjected to varying conditions are the best to be found anywhere.

Anyone can build a humidor for static conditions. That is why so many people choose ice chests. Regardless of their simplicity, I have seen very few willing to post up data logged results of their for static condition coolers much less an active cooler. Active humidors can get complex in a hurry. I know, I have tested them for years and I still think there is much to learn.

High performance is a matter of opinion. What is acceptable to some folks is unacceptable for others, and on the other hand what is exceptional performance to me, is overkill to many!

As a mentor, I coach many folks with these projects. From that experience, it is best to focus on what you want and why you want to do it. Measure your ambient conditions and know why you wish to go to this trouble to change it. Take it on only if you need to! Ice chests are so much simpler, if your conditions will support using one. Cheaper too!

Anyone can buy a wine cooler and put cigars in it. Very few are willing to invest in the instruments necessary to see if it really works, nor the time or money that it really takes to make them work.

The definition of "it works great" is in the eye of the beholder. I have read it many times, from many home humidor makers that they believe their projects work great. Perhaps some do! It is my experience based on the people that contact me, that they work great right up until the time that they discover that they really don't work at all. That is about the time I get an email… That is my experience anyway!!!

I have written extensively about these projects on this forum. Do yourself a favor and study up before taking it on!

Best of luck on your project. -The Pig
