I have been looking for a humidor as I need to upgrade just looking to get some ideas

Have been thinking of building my own. I have gun cabinet that the door is broke that I thought that I could use as a shell and buy the cedar to line it

Check out the thread "what is your set up" for great inspiration

My set up is an unplugged wine fridge - for moderating temperature changes and a good seal

Bob Staebell makes some nice custom cabinets in a multitude of sizes.

I'd suggest checking that out if you decide to purchase one.

I have heard some good things about that one though it's been a few years. No personal experience.

Not to be a shill but check out the Aristocrat Mini http://www.aristocra...ocrat-mini.html

Sounds like less capacity than the Montague, so if you need room for 1000 cigars vs. 500 (and who doesn't?) the Montague may be a good choice though you could get the base model Aristocrat and use your own beads for a little under < $500.

Probably a few other cabinet humidors with decent capacity in that range, just make sure they're solid wood and well constructed.

You should look into converting the gun cabinet too, that could be awesome and one of a kind.

Best wishes finding the one that works for you.

I have looked at them and just to much was looking around $500 (us)

Any thoughts on this one http://www.cheaphumi...UM-MONTCAB.html

I have that end table cabinet and for the money it is a very respectable piece. Bought mine in 2008 and currently have around 35 boxes in it and room for many more. I have the cigar oasis XL 2 humidifier and it has been working fine for the last five years.
