Hello all,

I joined the forum a while back (July/August?), but I haven't really done anything with it besides skim through a few of the pages; however, I've been a big follower of the video reviews and, although I think we already have an answer to this question, I thought I'd post it here and see what you all think. I have a friend who likes cigars and we came up with the brilliant idea to split a box since I'm running out of humi space and since he doesn't keep a large stock anyway. I smoke about once a week or more and he may smoke once every two to three weeks. We're in college, so we don't want to break the bank, but we want something great for what we can afford as well. I prefer long, skinny cigars and he's more of a robusto sort. Thus, my question: What would you all recommend in terms of Cubans that would fit the aforementioned tastes? I'll let you know what we were thinking once I have a few responses to see if you think that would still be a good idea or if we should give more weight to the recommendations I get here.

Thanks

Welcome!

Petit Coronas are a good middle point in terms of size. I'd start there.

Settled on Boli PCs. Was originally going to go with Monty 2s.

Welcome - not enough experience on the CC front to comment - on the NC side - fuente and padrons are hard to beat - and can be found reasonably

Guideright--Maybe I should have been clearer, but we're not new to cigars, just to the Cuban market. I agree wholeheartedly with you on Padron--they're my go-to brand (unless the hype around some of the Cubans proves true, in which case they may be replaced). Actually, on that note, I ordered a box of Ambassadors not too long ago and got some from 2010, which proves that it pays to favor less popular sizes. For such a cheap smoke, they have proven better behaved than my Family Reserve 45 Maduros.
