Having a laugh yesterday with a good mate after he reminded me of some of my most "dingbat" moments...and there are plenty loser.gif

His personal favourite was a my "Good Samaritan" moment when I visited his son at his luxury waterfront home when he was laid down with a newly broken leg.

It was mid morning and after some friendly banter I offered to make him a coffee and left him on the couch to go into the magnificent kitchen where I found the kettle (same one I have at home) and put it on the $10,000 gas stove.

I went back into the lounge and was talking away fro a few minutes before we could smell something burning. That was just before the smoke came into the room.......thinking.gif

I ran back into the kitchen to see the whole thing alight.

......apparently the difference between his kettle and mine.....was that his was electric surprised.gif

.....those suckers melt just before they combust into flame.

No change out of $20k and to this day the most expensive cup of coffee in history cofcig.gif

So the moral of the story and just plain good general advice is keep El Presidente away from anything that has a flame. Be it a kettle, a stove or a BBQ.

Lessons hard learned. My cousin asked me as a teen to put the wheel back on his work trailer. It was jacked off the ground. I quickly put them on and later found out one should tighten them after the trailer is back on the ground and the wheels are weighted. 30 KM down the road someone else hard to put them back on after they started coming off !

I once ran out of gas while going to school with my old beater. I thought I was so lucky when someone stopped immediately and drove to a gas station and back to my car. I was unable to get it started so I prime the carb with a little gas not remembering it back fired once in awhile which it did spitting gas on the hot engine. It is amazing how quickly wire melts when on fire with gasoline.

Even to this day no one asks me to help with their car :}
