Hi Everyone,

Not sure if many of you tried this wine before but i think it's one of the best desert wines i have ever had. To my mind, it tastes extremely like port and to be more specific, to Hunter valley ports.

Any decent Hunter valley port would cost between 40-60 AU$ (375ml) and this one costs around 12AU$(750ml) from Dan murphy's!! Not all Dan Murphy's sell it by the way.

I love pairing this wine with a Punch Punch, seems to complement the chocolate taste that i get from the Punch Cigar. Not a big fan of sweet wines to be honest but i found this one not too sweet to overpower the cigar flavours.

Another major point for me is the fact that this wine never managed to give me a hangover not even after half a bottle if not more. And this is a good way for me to judge good and bad wine as i am very prone to Migraines from bad alcohol.

Grab a bottle if you have a chance, you won't be disappointed!

Note: A cool thing to do with ports generally would be to try the port at different temperatures.

Leaving the port at room temperature, I usually get 3 glasses, one at room temperature, one that i soak with hot water for a minute and one that i soak in ice for a minute or so.

You will get 3 different tastes(the hotter the sweeter) from the same bottle which i find to be cool peace.gif

There are days when I miss working in the Liquor Buying dept at Woolworths... then I remember all the crap and come to my senses! lol3.gif

Actually had a Greek dessert wine at a degustation a couple of weeks ago. Must say, it was quite enjoyable.

Dear PauiF,

If you liked that wine with your cigar, then you should try some of the "BANYULS"dessert wine , you'll love It.

@AdC, hope you enjoy it smile.png

@Fuzz, yup, working at the Liquor Buying dept at Woolworths can be very dangerous yes.gif

@Laficion, thanks for the suggestion. Will definitely look for that bottle. Heard Banyuls have pretty good Grenache too so might grab one of those too!

Cheers
