Here is a photo I took this morning of a few sticks and a very old Abercrombie and Fitch Lighter.

I thought it turned out quite nicely, what do you guys think?

Nice shot. Focus is a little off though, would have been better if it was on the band.

Yeah, I was trying to focus on the body of the lighter to show off the ornate gold paint job.

I think it turned out quite well as is. In fact, I probably would have opened up the aperture a bit more to defocus the Cohiba band. You know it's a Cohiba. We can tell it's a Cohiba. I think you made the more compelling aesthetic choice by focusing on the very interesting decoration of the lighter.

I love the detail on the lighter, great pic!

Very cool. Always wished I had the photographers eye. As it is I'm relegated to enjoy the work of others.

True, I can agree with that. Or, stopping down to have both the lighter and the band in focus could've been less distracting as well. Great shot either way though.

great shot. was this done with a macro lens?

I actually took this photo with my Nikon D3100 with a Nikon 35mm f/1.8G AF-S DX lense. Just goes to show you don't need the best equipment to get some good shots.
