I've done some searching and I can't find the answer to this question so I thought I would throw it out to you guys.

What does the year on the band of a regional edition mean?

For instance if I am looking at a SLR Pacificos 2009 does that mean the cigar was originally made in 2009 and is therefore now around 4 years old? Or does it mean this blend was first introduced in 2009? That brings up another question. Is it really a different blend or just a different size?

Thanks for the help.

The size is one not normally found in the line, and in theory, it would be blended for that particular size.

Just means that it was released in that year smile.png

So if I were to purchase one today it would be at around 4 years old?

Correct.

Aside from some occasional rareties, the year is the year they were made and released. A one-time deal.

Some cigars (Boli Simones RE Canada, Edmundo Dantes Conde 109's RE Mexico, etc.), they were actually released on a given year, and then more were re-released the following year, stretching them out over two years. With stuff like that, the band will still show the year of the release, but then the box code would show the year of manufacture.

But the ones you're asking about, the SLR Pacificos RE, yes, those were a 2009 release (and manufacture too I believe - at least, i've only ever had or seen 2009 codes).

I have never seen a year on the band of a regional edition cigar.

Am I missing something?

I assumed he means Limited Editions but he does refer to SLR Pacificos 2009?

Are we talking fakes here?

I was about to ask the exact same thing.

My mistake. I thought the RE had a dated band as well. I just put in my first order of a couple REs so I have never seen them in person.
