As I mentioned before, I used to loathe xikar lighters until I bought their 'tech' model...

It's a great, cheap no fuss lighter with a massive fuel tank, and its the first xikar that didn't break down on me.

Now I've caught a glimpse of this bad boy which is of a similar concept:

Has some good reviews as well, I understand that xikar have released a triple flame version of their tech lighter which might also be worth a look in but the intimidator looks like it will get the job done!

I don't toast the foot of my cigars, I've learnt from rob and the gang and I torch those SOBs with fantastic results.

I think I might take a punt on an intimidator, I will be sure to post a review.

Looks impressive! I'd be interested in your thoughts. I imagine quad burn it would need that large tank to fuel it.

I currently use most of the time a cheap 3x burner which is small and mobile. When out the back kicking back I use the Blazer

Always looking for new toy though :)

Impressive, most impressive.

My current lighter is a Xikar Axia or a Blazer EVO (both are twin flame). Though I might go back to my old Blazer Torch. Since nobody can work out how to turn off the safety lock, it will stop people from borrowing my lighter all the time! tongue.png

Nice, thanks for sharing.... Have needed a new lighter and this will do just fine,... Albeit, now when I'm trying to relight a nub I can singe more than just my mustache....

I bought a black label dictator.

Its got this fancy single jet assembly that produces a flat flame that isnt as harsh as most jet lighters.

Its kinda like a cross between a soft flame and jet lighter.

It aint cheap at $140 but I'm VERY impressed with it

I purchased an intimidator about 3 months ago and have been very happy with its performance. It isn't overly priced ($30), is reliable, has a large fuel tank, and has three strips of some type of metal that colors the flame. It puts off a huge flame which is nice for lighting but is not that precise for touching up wanky burns. It is also rather large so it is to bulky to carry in your pocket. IMO it makes a better table lighter to have around the house.

Looks like a decent product.

I have a number of different lighters now (Colibri Ambiance in gloss black, Xikar Enigma in gunmetal, Vector Tri-Pump in black & chrome, and now also one of the Iroda Micro-Jet's for travelling after Marc's/BrotherBear's suggestion), and all of them I use regularly and love, and have had most for many years now. None have given me any issues, aside from a plug-up on the Xikar, which was promptly exchanged with their easy warranty service.

But, about a year or so ago, I bought a Lotus lighter, and it's never worked properly, after even being looked at for servicing once. Actually, it's never worked at all, for it's needed use. It's a Lotus L37, in gunmetal and brushed chrome. The fit, finish, and overall design is awesome - it's a unique looking piece, and feels good in the hand. But it's never worked correctly for the get-go.

I did some research on the Lotus lighters, after I bought this one. There were a lot of quality issues for a good stretch, and a number of valued retailers I know stopped dealing with them for a while. From some of them, the issues were sorted out mid-2012, so that crap period should be behind hopefully.

But, if you get one, just be sure that you are dealing with a good retailer that has good customer service - I unfortunately bought mine from one of those "e-something" retailers, and they only had a 30-day warranty/return timeline (which their shipping alone fell outside of), and were extremely unhelpful in assisting me further. They followed up after the 30-day return window to see if I had any issues needing a return/exchange. And once I finally got the item in hand, and had issues with the lighter, and I e-mailed them multiple times, they turned very unhelpful, aside from simply shrugging me off to contact the manufacturer.
