frito Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 Hey guys, I'm quite embarrassed to post this but here it goes anyway...... I recently ordered a lotus 48 twin torch lighter from amazon and had it shipped to a forwarding company based in Ohio to have it shipped to Singapore. Unfortunately the lighter was loaded with fuel and my forwarder refuse to ship it out of the country due to aviation regulation. I contacted amazon to try and get a RMA number, but lighters are classified under hazardous product and they do not not accept returns. I asked my forwarders again to help me discharge the fuel, their reply was that they were not been able to bleed out the fuel. Is there any FOH mates living near or in OH who can help me discharge the gas in the lighter? I'll have the lighter re-shipped to you and once the gas is discharged, I would just need you to call DHL to arrange a pick-up. I do have a DHL shipping a//c so all shipping charges will charged to my account. Any takers?
Marker Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 I can help but I am in Minnesota. Ohio is a little ways off. Have them take it to USPS, pack it well, and say no when USPS asks if there is anything hazardous, ship it to me and I will purge it for you.
DrunkenMonkey Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 how hard is it to bleed out the fuel? jeez. Well I'm across the river from cincinnati, but that's kentucky, so if it needs shipped to an actual ohio address, I guess I can't do it. But if it's close enough to be ok, I'll do it for you. Or if they can ship it to somewhere in cincinnati where I can go and get it, I'll go and get it and do it for you.
frito Posted April 27, 2013 Author Posted April 27, 2013 hey guys, thanks for helping out. DrunkenMonkey, my shipper is located in Dayton, OH. Can you PM me your name, address and contact number? I'll have the package shipped to you. I would not want to trouble you to pick it up. Thanks
stogieluver Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Just another example of the really nice people on this forum.

Chelsea8 Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 Try atlanticcigar.com , cigarplace.biz or cheaphumidors.com next time. They know how to ship direct to you, without fuel in the lighters.
OZCUBAN Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 This place never ceases to amaze me ,and that's a good thing Be well brothers
sengjc Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 Technically, you can get it shipped via ground shipment to a nearby SBOTL, let her/him bleed the lighter out and then on-ship to you.
petey Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 I'm 30 minutes from Dayton, let me know if I can help. PJ
