AndrewNR Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Made it to the latter part of the dawn service thismorning, planning to go again for the noon service and going to display my old military bike hopefully.
Dara Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 For all those from far off shores who gave their lives to fight in a European war (Gallipoli), and all who have served since!
Ken Gargett Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 lest we forget, indeed. a reminder to pull out my grandfather's war diary. what a different life.
polarbear Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 Had the pleasure of attending an ANZAC Day Dawn Service this morning in New York City. Had a turn out of around 200 people A 45 min service followed by home made ANZAC biscuts and coffee. Great to see that the ANZAC spirit extends outside of Aus and NZ Never before has so much been owed by so many to so few- Churchill
AndrewNR Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 Made the 11:30 service as well with the old girl. Rubbed shoulders with a few returned servicemen and the children and grand children of. Was great to see such a large turn out and to hear so many storys. Some of the things you hear really gravitate what things were like for the families and the soldiers. In allot of cases it seems the familys weren't told a whole lot and returned serviceman scarcely talked of their experiences.
