OttawaMan Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 Heading to Montreal on Sunday and was hoping to shop for a new humidor. Having a heck of a time google searching for places in Montreal. Anyone familiar with the area have any recommendations?
CanuckSARTech Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 The LCDH Montreal is an option, although, like everything in a LCDH the prices can be somewhat steep (especially considering the related taxes). But, all things considered, they have some excellent quality ones there that are still worth every penny. Not sure if any of the other haunts have humidors as well - one of the Montreal boys will likely chime in with a better lead on that.
Strada Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 1- La casa del Habanos has a nice selection. Great service. Ask Antonio or Carlos 2- Vasco has an ok selection but the service is horrible there. Dont go there. 3- Blatter Blatter has a smal selection but the service is great. Ask for Patrick or Ben And yes Keith is right, Montreal isn't the cheapest place to buy a humidor ...
OttawaMan Posted March 5, 2013 Author Posted March 5, 2013 Ok...so if there's little selection in Montreal...how do you guys feel about online purchase of a humidor? Risky?
IcedCanuck Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 Ok...so if there's little selection in Montreal...how do you guys feel about online purchase of a humidor? Risky? There are lots of good and reliable places to buy a humidor online if that is the route you want to go down. I doubt you will find anything in Montreal that you cannot find locally at the 'Ottawa Cigar Emporium'. Their prices suck just as much as everyone else but I find for Ottawa anyway they have the best selection hands down. They are in the market on Clarence street if you didn't already know.
CanuckSARTech Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 Online, there's some very extensive selection. Once you find what you like, PM some members here, and see if any experience. There's a few that I've dealt with before, for myself as well as some buddies - feel free to drop me a line for any recommendations.
