After lots of reading on forms and reviews I’ve decided to try the H Upmanns Half Corona, I also decided to have a glass rum with it lets see what all the talk is about with this little stick.

As you can see with the picture above the H Upmann is tiny cigar almost same height as my ST Dupont lighter.

When you light it up you can taste the young toasted tobacco off the first puff, but after a few cm’s I get a very nice kick of peanut butter, not as sweet as peanut butter but more like you took a hand full of nuts and crunched it into a paste in your mouth. After this nutty semi sweet flavor is transformed into that Cuban earth and I get a salty after taste in my mouth.

This tiny half corona has started off not bad the best flavor was the peanut butter.

The second half starts off going back to that peanut flavor which is mixed with wood /earth flavors. Lastly the cigar ends off with a earthy toasted tobacco taste, you can really taste how young this cigar is now so I ended it.

Overall:

This is a good winter smoke would I buy a box hummmm.... probably not, the core flavors are not my cup of tea but once again for such a small cigar it delivers. I’ll have a few more before I pass judgment on a box because people say they get spice, cocoa and caramel flavors out of these. I wish this little guy had more sweet flavors in it, if it did I would say it was a home run....but this one didn’t mostly earth-wood-nuts taste.

Core Flavors: Peanut butter/nuts, earth, wood, toasted tobacco

I had one last Thursday. It was like a small HUP #2 to me. Very enjoyable short cigar but I also did not raise my expectations for it.
