Prelight heavy box press smooth medium brown wrapper very thin veins. Slightly loose draw mild flavor mostly tobacco.

1/3:

After toasting the foot, I noticed a light leather flavor with slight sour bite on the finish, cashew and cedar notes. There is tons of smooth smoke. Medium bodied with a perfect ash and burn. The flavor intensifies towards the end of the first third.

2/3:

Still at a medium, bordering on medium- full. Lots of leather and slight cashew in the background with a cedar component still lingering. Tons of smoke which is very creamy. The second third not as sour as the first third and has completely diminished by the beginning of the last third. The smoke is chewy and has a very long finish.

3/3:

Full bodied beast. The burn and ash remain firm and the draw is perfect. Just enough air mixing with the smoke to bring out the richness of flavor. The profile remains very much the same and at the end of the cigar but the leather really takes over. The cashew flavor is gone and the cedar is still somewhat present but the flavor of leather really has dominated the last third.

Overall impressions:

This is the second black prince from this five pack I picked up and it was significantly more intense than the first one I smoked. I enjoyed it quite a bit and the age seems to have added quite a bit of character to the smoke. I wish I could have tried a black prince when it came out to see how they have developed over the years but I do know that these are smoking wonderful now and still have some ability to age further.

Great review. I just had one of these from a 2001 box and it was very similar.

Nice review. I have one left from a early 2000 fiver and its just marinating, but I remember the other 4 being just stellar cigars and very full flavored. Kind of reminds me of the box of RS11's I have in profile and strength, yet another discontinued cigar if you can find em and afford em theyre so worth it. I mean the Black Prince but that would go for the RS 11's too.
