El Presidente Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Have you ever sent a text to the wrong person? maybe a blistering e-mail but realised you accidentally "replied all" including (unintentionally) the recipient of the tirade? Why are there not warnings on bottles of wine stating "Alcohol and digital communication do not mix?" is there a breathalizer invented yet that you can connect to your phone or laptop!!!! Why Not!!!! Smithy....start working on one and you will make a fortune!!! ........not that I am admitting anything
MnMWC Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Funny you bring up this topic... I just sent a "Reply All" email from my phone unknowingly... responding to a "not so friendly" email. Needless to say, I had a plethora of phone calls to make afterwards to... this happens when your response is meant for two and reaches "All". Lessons learned... watch the buttons you push when upset.
riazp Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Been there done that Rob. Thank god I dont drink anymore...at least I'm not a mean drunk...which is good for me!
davidsan Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 I've seen this happen a lot in a professional office environment. We've had clients send us incredibly sensitive info because of a wrong button pressed on an email. On a personal note, I'm a terrible drunk dialer and texter. So much so I purposely don't put certain peoples numbers in my phone to avoid any embarrassing indiscretions
Fuzz AI Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Yep, here it is, the iBreathalyzer. Just attach it to your iPhone/Pad/Pod. Though it doesn't stop you from texting whilst drunk. For that you will need to download Textalyzer from iTunes.
GernBlansten Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Ahhh, texting... The adult equivalent of passing notes in school. Love it! If you have not been here, please enjoy: http://www.textsfromlastnight.com Some of my favs (and there are many) include: (859): The best part about drinking boxed wine is you can blow up the bag and use it as a pillow (402): Let the vodka take you where it will. Like Pocahontas, but wasted (541): We should discuss this later when sobriety has returned. Right now he's just like a distant cousin. (315): So i just bought beer on a credit card, using a fake ID, while wearing my nametag from work. All 3 have different names on them. God i love my boobs.
Munts Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 I had the misfortune of meaning to send an.. um ...*explict*.... text to my girlfriend and instead sending it to the ex.... (they shared the same first letter). I realised it.... just as i hit send Never has the cancel button been hit so many times before.... still too late... lol
Ophidion Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Wasn't me but my friends fiancé texted my fiancé (girlfriend at the time) a congratulatory message when I notified her that I was going to propose that weekend. That message was meant for me. Luckily, the message was vague enough that my future wife couldn't exactly make it out but she told me she assumed it was going to happen after that message and wasn't as surprised as I would have liked.
CanuckSARTech Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 LOL. "Textsfromlastnight" and "Damnyouautocorrect" are both awesome! I love "Textsfromdog" also!
Cohiba Stevie Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 My team performed really well one day in work were we outperformed every other team in the region. To gloat i sent a picture of me with my shirt off and tie round my head with the caption "you want some of this?!" to the other managers in my section. I ended up sending it to the wrong distribution group and everybody in the company seen it... HR, CEO, CFO, the janitor you name it they seen it. I may actually still have said pic on my phone...
Orion21 Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 I know someone that works at a Tech company and was on his laptop during a meeting. The presenter was doing his thing when my friend thought he was internally messaging another colleague with the message "This guy is a f%&$ing idiot." Turned out he clicked on the conference messaging function and his little message showed up on the presenters screen for everyone see. . .
asmith Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 Why are there not warnings on bottles of wine stating "Alcohol and digital communication do not mix?" What have you not learnt anything???? Warning labels????? Hell man this is how plain packaging started. Someone woke up one morning after a big night out on the turps and smoking a couple of packets of cigarettes and then coughed up a lung and said, "there needs to be warning labels on those cigarette packets!" That story sounds very similar to your drunk texting situation. Warning label you should be ashamed for mentioning it.
