BlueClaw Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 Can someone tell me if boxes of CCs that have no date code on the bottom are legit? someone sold my brother in law a box of Monte 2's. there was a factory code but no date code on the bottom of the box. also, there is a round seal of some kind on the bottom of the box too. wondering if a scam..
Nino Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 Some boxes are packed in cardboard and the factory / date code is on them not on the boxes themselves. A box of MC Nr 2 should have the factory/date code stamped on the bottom. If it doesn't and if there's a "round stamp" on them - start wondering ...
bassman Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 As Nino said, sounds very fishy. Actually, strange things do happen & the box code COULD have been forgotten, but a "round stamp" is very wrong.
Rushman Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 If its not a box that would be packed in an outer cardboard box at BEST it sounds like black market but most likely fakes. --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=20.631705,-87.070638
Colt45 Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 If you're interested, using the search function, type in comintur. I don't know if that's the stamp on your friend's box or not, but it might help a little bit.

What I have in mind is the round stamp saying something like : Venta en Tiendas Caracol or something - sure sign of fake cigars.
Nino Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 Comintur doesn't show up in the search function - but : Yep, Tiendas Caracol ( is a square stamp ) and Comintur ( the round stamp ) here are those stamps, might help : http://www.friendsof...howtopic=109388

Vendido en Cuba is also part of the stamp. Here is a pic from your linked thread, borrowed from Pedro7913: Because I don't have first hand knowledge, I thought it better to suggest a search, which would provide info from those, like yourself and others, who do
BlueClaw Posted October 23, 2012 Author Posted October 23, 2012 i have to get hold of the box to check it out. don't recall if it looked like that. be that as it may.. the image in the previous post has the round stamp and no date code. i don't even see a facotry code. i assume it's a fake box?

As for the box : fake as a 3 1/2 $ bill ...
Orion21 Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 The shine on the bottom of the box makes it obvious as well. Maybe it's the same guys who sold someone at my B&M a "bundle" of 50 BHK 52's, 54's and 56's for $500, LOL
canadianbeaver Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 Google translates Tiendas Caracol as "snail stores"?
Colt45 Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 Here is a little bit more about Caracol shops: http://www.friendsof...wtopic=92168 There are a few more threads with info on Caracol shops. If anyone is interested, type caracol in the search bar (be sure to click on forums in the gray box, or use the advanced search).
Scdalak Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 Here is a perfect example of a bogus box with no date code i saw recently in Mexico At Rushmans store in Playa Del Carmen... Ok, ok just kidding..... But it was from Mexico...
