This evening, while puffing on an ERDM Choix Supreme, an Aussies (Melbourne) came up to look at some hats we sell outside our shop. After buying one, he asked me where he could get a hair cut - it was about 8:30. I directed him to the barber shop I go to which is about 9 blocks away.

My wife said "Rush, lend him your bicycle" and the guy said sure, that would be great. He took off and sure enough, he brought the bike back safe and sound.

Another positive sign for mankind!

 Good on him...

...and good on you for having the faith to lend it to him in the first place! :ok:

A bit of hope for us all

I wouldn't lend Rob my bike. He's liable to go off riding it with a glass of wine in one hand and a cigar in the other. Minutes later he'll be back with the wreckage, complaining that he spilt his wine and lost the cigar. :P

Whatever happended to that Montessa, Rob?

I only trust 4 Aussies:

1) Rob

2) Mick Dundee

3)Russel Crowe

4) The Ghost of Ned Kelly

I don't borrow push biles, motor bikes, cars or anything else that requires a level of sobriety. Fuzz is right. While I always bring them back they are normally in pieces and albeit I always pay for the damage + some ......I feel bad :dunce:

Fuzz...the Montessa arrives back this month after 4 years of repairs and a rebuild. I did have to threaten calling in the police. I suspect the re-built bike has toured every concourse event in the country.

4 years? Geez, I thought the paint job and repairs were meant to be completed back in 2010.

It was mate. However a mate of a mate did he job. You know how it ends, baseball bats, legal action and ......baseball bats. Bike had toured the county concourse show. Had a gutful.

just to add some news to this post.......i woke up this morning, walked the dog - at that time, bike was chained up per normal. Left for errands two hours later, bike was stolen - in daylight, just two hours after I last laid eyes on it.

Effers! The person who stole it, not Aussies!
