Cohiba Stevie Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 Im over in scotland for the week and left my torch lighter back in ireland. Trying to light a boli pc with a cheap bic lighter in the scottish highlands proved a futile exercise... Burnt my finger quite badly and utimatley had to toss the cigar. Whats worse is i have to wait till friday when im in edinburgh before i can get another cigar. And im usually so well prepared!!
cigcars Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 Don't tell me they don't have the equivalent of a convenience store or even department store where you can't buy like a $5 to 8GBP torch lighter??
Cohiba Stevie Posted September 4, 2012 Author Posted September 4, 2012 Im way out in the countryside, local convenience stores just have the crappy bic soft flame variety. I will be able to pick up a cheap torch when im in the city on friday.
Frofro Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 I find cigars are the only thing to keep the midgies at bay in the wilds of the motherland. That said, if you drink enough you don't care about the vicious little bloodsuckers...until you wake up covered in itchy bites.
Cohiba Stevie Posted September 4, 2012 Author Posted September 4, 2012 I am currently involved on the necessary meet up with family/business part of my trip... Come friday its nothing but cigars, steaks, rum and whiskey. Already made arrangements for a punch medalla d'oro and a cohiba 1966 when im in edinburgh. Staying at the hotel du vin that has its own 'cigar bothy' which is fantastic. I might write a couple of reviews with pics if the feeling takes me...

Aye there, hyperion; in the event it may not be there - go online & order some Avon Skin-So-Soft oil. Spread that on your arms and body & those "midgies" (whatever they are) will leave you the &^%@ alone! Fishermen over here love & pay homage to that Skin-so-soft in its uncanny insect repellent properties...plus you'll smell good too!
