I'm just not having any luck with this wineador keeping a stable RH. Part of the reason is that when my room is hot, the wineador can't reduce the temperature down so the fan is constantly on. When the fan is on, my RH goes down to about 50-55% but when it turns off it goes up to as high as about 70%. I'm thinking this cannot be too good for my cigars. What do you guys think of getting an actual humidor to store the cigars and throw the whole thing in the wine cooler just to regulate the temperature? So I will have the humidity set right inside the humidor so I won't have any kitty litter in the wineador. Maybe I can also use a tupperware instead to save some bucks. So does anyone else do the same thing? Getting real frustrated with the fluctuating RH...

i have three desktop humidors right now and i just purchase a coleman cooler to put full boxes in and the coleman cooler keeps the most stable out of all my cigar storage containers

plus a huge coleman cooler 100 quarts might cost $50 USD a lot cheaper than a cooler

Yes. I have a basic 12 bottle wine fridge. I found five tupperware containers that fit perfectly inside. I use localized humidifiers in each container as well as Hygrometers. This keeps my cigars at the right RH and temp. I'll take some photos and post later. Each container holds about 25-30 cigars depending on the size. I find that I don't have to run the fridge too often. Maybe once a week for a full day. The temp stays stable to 1 -3 degrees C in either direction. It's not as elegant as some wineador solutions, but it has not given me any headaches.

That sounds exactly like what I had in mind. Are tupperwares sealed? Or sealed enough to keep the RH stable inside? I'm curious what kind of humidifiers you have in it. I'll be awaiting your pictures, please! :hungry:

OK. Here's my setup.

I'm using a Koolatron 12 bottle wine fridge.

This is what it looks like closed. Two temp/hygrometers to measure the inside of the fridge. RH is between 30's - mid 40's at best. Temps in the 19C/60'sF

In each tupperware container, I put either a water pillow or humistat stick and a Hygrometer (I rotate around 3 -4 within the 6 containers to save some cash)

Closeup of the containers. As you can see RH is getting low in a few containers. Good thing I took these photos! :)

Empty wine fridge with spice jar filled with beads. This adds some ambient RH which helps. I dont always turn the fridge on as it sucks out all the moisture and cools things down further than I'd like. I typically run it one day, then leave it for a week. The temp is pretty stable using this schedule.

Post pics of your layout so folks can help.. Im currently running a 28btl cooler with 65% Rh Beads and kitty litter I'm staying at 63/63% or about 17 C for the rest of the world.
