I have to wonder what the commissioning of these boxes really means? Is the tobacco better? Are they rolled by a select group? Or maybe it's just the sticker that makes the recipients feel they have something special?

They look as if they were part of Rob's PSP programme.. So I feel that they are hand picked plus the sticker

Nice score nonetheless and thanks for sharing

I smoked a 2000 Lancero from 50 ct diplomatic box, last year. Based on my personal experience, it did not taste like a special blend. It was actually a let down. I dont know if I just got a bad one from the box. I have a newer diplomatic Lancero to smoke... with the double bands. I'm anxious to see how this one performs.

I asked this question when I was in El Laguito. There is no special tobacco used for diplomatic cigars. They are regular production lanceros with the Palma Real band added on.

Nice collector's item but no difference than smoking a regular lancero.

Heard from my friend who recently smoked these in London that there's major construction issues. I hope yours are better sir.

Great pickup indeed. Where. Is. Mine? LOL :spotlight:

They were Lanceros, and construction issues is taking it far. They were a bit tight.
