CM125 Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 I have found a store that got a shipment of Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon. They were not suppose to get it I have bought the 20 year have not opened it, they have the 15 year and the 12 year old. I need some advice on which one I should get. Thanks Curtis Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
csandbothe Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 Buy all the 15 year old you can get, it's fantastic. If you don't want it, I'd be happy to take it off your hands
rcarlson Posted June 4, 2012 Posted June 4, 2012 Oh Lordy. I downed an entire 20 yr old with some friends in about 1 hour. I'll wager the 15 kicks ass too. It's got the smoothest burnt carmel-like taste. You're in for a treat. What's the difference in price?
fattires Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 Stay away from the 12. Smells like moonshine and I can't get past the nose. I'm curious how the others turn out.
paindoc70 Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 I have had all three. The 20 is fantastic but a bit pricey. Amazing complexity and one of the best boubons around. If you can swing it it is well worth it and it is apparently all Stitzel Weller stock instead of the new Buffalo Trace version. The 15 is also fantastic. more vibrant and a bit less wood on the palate, but a better value. Stay away from the 12. It is decent but overpriced and quite average for having the Pappy Label.
CM125 Posted June 30, 2012 Author Posted June 30, 2012 I went ahead and bought the 15 year. I have already sampled the 15 and it is so smooth. I still have not opened the 20 year may have to open it this weekend with a nice Ramon Allones extra. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
