melies Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 I don't know if I'm on time for the competition or if I am even following the rules, but bloody hell I just had a Jun Lopez PC from ABR may 11 box code that blew my head off. Paired with a London no1 gin extra dry martini It started with raisins on pre light smell. The first third was pure bliss! Short cake, combined with lots of smoke and the most wonderfull pull I have ever had on a cigar not to loose but tight enough (I guess this is how smithy likes them) as I kept smoking it some apricot came on. The second third, just gave me pure apricot jam and bread, it kept changing. The burn kept through the cigar razor sharp, what an amazing construction! I was watching an awesome tv series called black mirror and the cigar just made me stop watching and turn the tv of, and I was lovIng the episode. Worth noticing is I'm having perfect smoking conditions right know, indoors with the door open, temp around 26c with a lovely night. Last third, medium body (it kept from lite to medium but mostly medium) the most amazing flavors, kind of like raisin bran, short cake, I hate to use this term but lots of Cuban twang. For the last bit, wheat, elegance and character! Wow this is why I smoke cubans and this is a cigar that defines passion! Easily a 97 and that is just because it has the lamest name of a brand ever (Juan Lopez, in Mexico that is like naming a cigar John Doe hahaha) really this is pure heaven and if/when I can I will buy more boxes of this!
dvickery Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 melies a very nice review...thank you. juan lopez cigars are also proof positive that medium bodied cigars can stand the test of time...i am puffing away on a box of patricias from '97...fabulous cigars. derrek
nonameno Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 Hello Melies, Great review! I love the Juan Lopez Nos 1 and 2, and have often wondered about the PC. I may need to start looking for a box too. Thanks for sharing, Curtiss
