Cigar Review Competition Diplo#4

Temperatures have finally gone up in Sweden. 25 degrees in the shade and there is no stopping me from smoking on the patio.

This cigar is from 2009. It is well constructed. Pre draw is firm but not too tight. It is not a very pretty cigar. The wrapper has visible veins and there is glue residue on the wrapper.

Light up: peppery, almost harsh, earthy cuban tobacco.

1 cm: nice grey/white ash. Burns evenly. I am no expert in flavours, but this reminds me a lot of Boli PC. Harshness slowly fading away.

1/3: hints of licorice, but the dominating flavour is that typical earthy/grassy cuban tobacco. Still very even burn suggests that the cigar, although not the best looking one, is well rolled.

2/3:some undistinct floral flavours at the back of my tongue. Overall dominating taste is still pure tobacco. This is a strong cigar with lots of nicotine.

3/3: this is a no-nonsense-bang-on-cigar. No subtleties here. Getting stronger. Hints of tar in my mouth.

Overall a good CC.If you are in to pure tobacco flavours (which I am) I can strongly recommend it, though not the most "dynamic" of the CC´s I have smoked. Rating 75/90.

Hmm.. Interesting review. I've only had a few of these myself. Many who like them speak highly of the Dip4's "cinammon" profile. Your stick sounds rather harsh. That's too bad.

This box is only two years old. Maybe they will develop a "cinnamon character" over the years. I will probably never know, since this is my only box and they are getting harder and harder to find. But this is definitely a strong cigar. However, not necssarily a bad thing in my book.

My box is NOV 09. As long as you're enjoying the cigar that's all that matters.
