joshb Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 No box code on this one, but it was a single from the Czar, so I can only gues at early-mid 2011. Beautiful stick, mottled wrapper, firm in the hand with the scent of honeyed sweetness on the wrapper, graham and barnyard at the head and foot. Firm Cuban draw with fresh hay and sweet tobacco on the pre light draw. First half - Starts off showing quite young and tight, classy but not giving much, light tobacco and a bit grassy.Eases into some graham and yeasty toasted breads towards the halfway mark, spices creeping up as well...alluring aroma, medium body with some kick. Second half - Proceeds much the same with toasty bread and some grassiness, graham weaving in and out, med body and strength, showing some youth. Very sweet honey notes coming In towards the end, finishing on a smoother, creamier note that is pretty refined and shedding some of the less pleasant youthful notes. General Thoughts - Didnt really knock my socks off as others have, but it was certainly smooth and refined. I don't think I can say it was all "youth", but rather this was just not as great of a cigar. Construction was flawless, the aroma was generally really pretty and the smoking experience was good. With English breakfast tea.
jimmy81 Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 Just had a siglo 1 two weeks ago, sound like the same experience only shorter time. Will try this viola soon. Nice review Josh!
Jason55555 Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 This one of favorite cigars it was my first knock my socks off cigar, my 2011 give me tones of earth, spice, ceder wood, and sweet notes of honey the honey was the kicker for me it runs rappent all threw the Siglo II 2011's cigars. Great review!
maverickdrinker Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 nice review. If you have a few of them, throw them in the back of your humidor and don't start smoking them until 2016. An aged cohiba is a wonderful experience.
