I flew with boxes of carry on yesterday, Air Transat, no problem. It's lighters and cutters that will get you in trouble. It is very hot in baggage below so I recommend it. If you have more that 50 to declare on your way home, split the declaration with another passenger in your group.

No problem taking cigars in your carry on luggage.I do it all the time.As a matter of fact, once I put my boxes in the checked luggage and when I came home to unpack the boxes were damaged due to the rough handling.Luckily the cigars were OK.

I packed a 15ct herf in my carry on when I went to Houston. Was no issue. Just be ready with a coin or key to open that sucker up when you land. They are sucked tight. I didn't carry cutter or lighter with me. I did precut one cigar in the box in case I had to wait a long time to get baggage etc. You can always find matches or a fire if needed.

I always travel with my 10ct travel humidor. Just flew to Phoenix and Las Vegas had no issues. The only issue is with cutters and lighters. It's hit or miss on cutters, just depends on the Security agent. As for traveling with a lighter it is a no go with our butane lighters. Apparently, there is a case that is approved and it has to be in your checked bag but I haven't given it much thought. I usually just take a few spills with me.

I usually check in my 10 ct humidor, lighter and cutter, no problems. I've read somewhere that you need a casing for the butane lighter but Ive not bothered with one, so far no problems at the airport security.

Cigars as carry on - no prob, I've carried new humidors filled with em on the plane. Lighters and cutters should be checked ( they take em off you in Australia ) and lighter should be empty.

Colibri makes one (looks like a big yellow pill - called the Colibri Transpack, I think), and OtterBox makes one for the Xikar lighters (as well as Otterbox makes one for Zippo lighters also, not sure if that's flight-approved though). I have both, and have used both for flights with different lighters, and no issue. Must be in checked luggage though, I believe, with those sealed cases. Can't remember if the lighters need to be emptied / purged of fuel before travelling though.

Most of the time I carry my cigars and put my cutter and lighter in the bag I check. Usually I have no problems. I have also carried my lighter and cutter with no problems. This last flight (last week) they removed my jet lighter from my checked in bag, no note or anything, just took it.

As a matter of fact it is quite the opposite. Cargo compartments can get to almost freezing temperature during flight.

TSA allows you to check cigar cutters and lighters that are not jet flame without any fuel in it. Jet flames are a no go (due to the high temperature of its flame).

Cigars on carry on are ok as well.
