ptrthgr8 Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 Well... Detroit is now out of the playoffs, losing to stupid Nashville 4 games to 1. Lame, because Nashville cares more about Blake Shelton than it does hockey... so they don't deserve a good hockey team. But they completely out-played Detroit, so it is what it is. Detroit still has 11 Stanley Cups and the Predators have only won two playoff series. Datsyuk is a hockey god. Red Wings still rule! Now that Detroit is out, I guess I have to cheer for Boston or Philly. If Vancouver and Pittsburgh lose in the first round I will still see the silver lining in this playoff season. Drinking much Zacapa Centenario 23 and shots of Patron Silver and smoking a Lost City Piramide and a Bolivar BF has helped to take the sting out of this early playoff exit. There's always next year, eh? Cheers, ~ Greg ~
riazp Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 You should smoke a great Crowned Heads cigar out of spite LOL
Bolismoker Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 As a Hawks fan, I can't lament the Wings being out, but on the off chance we get past the Yotes I sure was hoping to play you guys in the next round,as much for the history as for the fact that the Preds are scary
Pilsner14 Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 Nice to see a full rink and excitement around Nashville. Good for the game. Nice work Preds.
ptrthgr8 Posted April 21, 2012 Author Posted April 21, 2012 Nice to see a full rink and excitement around Nashville. Good for the game. Nice work Preds. Yeah... three days after the Preds are done the town will go back to not caring about hockey - even if they win the Cup (heaven forbid!).
MoneyPit Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 Bridgestone Area is an incredibly loud and electric venue when the Preds play and Nashville is excited about the Preds chances this year. Go Preds!
khomeinist Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 Lol. Love a sore loser thread. Looks like serious regime change in the West. Good to see Preds, Blues, and Kings mixing things up. Lot of parity. Good luck to those with teams remaining. My Sabres caught the injury bug and the offseason will be loooooong
MICSTOGIE Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 The playoffs have been really fun to watch so far but I Need a Blackhawks W tonight! Sent from my iPhone 4s using Technology
dvickery Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 with webber suter radulov and rinne...i am not sure why anyone would say they are "lame". they are better than they were a year ago...they may not win a stanley cup but they are headed in the right direction. derrek
Diamondog Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 Detroit past its prime now, they'd be smart to start bulding now rather than hanging on....Nashville is good and will only get better...
Tarks Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 What is lame is the title of this thread. Oh and last time I checked, North Freaken' Dakota didn't have an NHL team so I guess ND is lamer than Nashville.

But it's clearly a matter of the Wings being outplayed and out goalied. The refs made a lot of bad calls or no-calls, but they did that both ways so it wasn't a ref thing. I think Weber really got away with no supplemental discipline after that Zetterberg head smash into the glass/boards (Shanny blew that one big time), but even if Weber had been suspended for 2 or 3 games I don't think the series would have ended any differently. I'll root for the Blackhawks now in the West and probably Boston or Philly from the East, though I wouldn't mind seeing Ottawa advance, too. I just want to see Cindy Crosby sent home in the first round, too. Cheers, ~ Greg ~

ptrthgr8 Posted April 21, 2012 Author Posted April 21, 2012 with webber suter radulov and rinne...i am not sure why anyone would say they are "lame"... Because it's Nashville. The players are obviously good and all - they did finish in a higher seed than Detroit afterall - but I would have said the same for Miami, Phoenix, Tampa, or anywhere else where you can't skate outdoors in the winter. I'm a traditional hockey market snob, what can I say? Cheers, ~ Greg ~
ptrthgr8 Posted April 21, 2012 Author Posted April 21, 2012 Oh and last time I checked, North Freaken' Dakota didn't have an NHL team so I guess ND is lamer than Nashville. Careful, Winnipegger... you people only just got a team back after they ran away to the Arizona desert 16 years ago. You hardly have much room to talk at all. Besides, my town is home of the University of North Dakota Fighting Sioux (they'll always be the Fighting Sioux, no matter that the PC police at the NCAA have to say) and there's clearly a far greater and richer hockey tradition in this small town than there is in all of Tennessee. I seriously doubt very many NHLers ever attended Tennessee State University in Nashville. Many former Sioux players have been and are still are in the NHL. So... yeah... no way ND is lamer than Nashville. But, hey, if I ever start giving a rats butt about country music... Cheers, ~ Greg ~
ptrthgr8 Posted April 21, 2012 Author Posted April 21, 2012 Buuuuuuuurrrrnnnnnnnn LOL! I'm shocked the pens are still alive! Yes... be proud of the Habs. Because they've been relevant for a long time now. LOL I want to see the Pens go down tonight. But I think Fleury is getting back to his regular season form. Which could mean Philly is cooked if they don't start getting more traffic in front of him. If the Pens come back to win this series I think I'll vomit. LOL Cheers, ~ Greg ~
riazp Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 The new Habs gm needs to contact the pens and trade for staal
