Hi All.

Here's my tuppence worth on these.

Bolivar

Perfecto

48

Smells earthy.

Pre light, earthy, potting compost.

First third, as above.

Overtones of of that musky earthiness, slight bit of coffee, as the cigar gets going, a slight back of the mouth tang of aniseed.

Starts medium.

Middle.

Aniseed has gone, leaving not much at all, just a slight tobacco flavour. Unimpressive.

Still medium.

End.

The earthiness will not return, slight tangs of coffee and chocolate, but not much.

Heading stronger.

Overall.

Started well, with some real good flavours, but led to nothing really.

Strong enough, but without the intrigue I expect.

Not worth £16.

It has not changed my dim view of RE/EL nonsense.

Perhaps the less knowledgeable smoker these things are aimed at will lap it up, but not many serious cigar heads I know would be exited by this, and it is a fair representation of the avenue ( or cul-de-sac)Habanos is heading down.

I've had better smoking experiences smoking regular production Bolivar.

Maybe youth is the reason, but I'm not so sure...

All I can say is oh crap... Better re-think our order...or was this just an opinion of one brother's one cigar?

*Edit**

Just saw CQ's video review and there is hope that these will mature.

Bah, we just order ONE box Lisa! I am interested to see for myself, especially after one or two years of storage. And don't forget the box at least is decorative!

Best,

Michel

Yeah, I certainly didn't aim to discourage anyone.

I was pretty disappointed myself, as I had hoped for more...

But, I try to be honest.

I would think a year at least will bring out some flavour.

You did not disappoint us at all and I liked your review, but since the box is on its way anyway, we'll have to try it for ourselves!

Best,

Michel

Wish I could get my hands on a couple of those!

That might be difficult, as the guy I got these from had nearly sold out his large quantity already, after a week!

Hyperbole, I think, but that's marketing for you!
