Rushman Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 Snack foods have too many unnecessary calories. I rarely snack. And recently my bewerage of choice (with a cigar) has been green tea. Rob, don't you try to lure us Fat Bastards away from the victory! ya know I've found green tea (hot or cold) really is a nice accompaniment to a good cigar.
audio1der Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 Chips (crisps). Salt'n'vinegar kettle chips are best. Mmmm.
canadianbeaver Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 Licorice Allsorts (but not the ones with the little dots on them) Cashews Kettle Chips Tim Bits (donut holes - esp the choc glazed ones) There. I confessed.
MrDowse Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 The good old British 'bacon butty'. Has to be good bacon though.. Dry Cure on decent quality toasted sourdough bread. Mmmm.
brazoseagle Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 Let's see here..........some of my favorites, especailly late night after a bender, or anytime accompanying some cold beers. Orion21 Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 Goldfish Ice Cream isn't considered a snack, but if I'm really weak Haagen-Dazs is fantastic BTW, this is mean to post during the "Fat Bastard Competition" Rob. I'm on protein shakes and turkey breast during the day . . .
Habanos2000 Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 i always find a few chocolate chip cookies hit the spot when I'm looking for a snack.
Cohiba Stevie Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 Buffalo wings Parma ham Pigs in a blanket Kettle chips Portion of pulled pork bits
sloth Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 When I think of a snack... I think of something with no prep work beyond opening a container. That is normally eaten in quantities far greater than the labeled serving size. That would have to be Blue Diamond Wasabi & Soy Sauce Almonds
mazolaman Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 I was thinking of Biltong while reading this thread. Are you from South Africa? I know all about Biltong from the 5 ex Saffas that i work with! No, just live in London where you can get everything you desire. SA shops abound. Love anything that is made from an animal, in spite of my hippy nature... love biltong, good salty stuff.. Have you tried much?
Fuzz Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 But the one I remember the most - Hot Crispy Deep Fried Sugar Bananas Goreng pisang! Dude, when I get the condo fixed, you gotta fly out to Malaysia with me!
dicko Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 another vote for biltong. and other dried or cured meats (like italian sausage etc)
lostsoulcamero Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 Chicharonni with salsa verde Chivechi tostada
MIKA27 Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 Pork Scartchings...heaven...here There's a reason they sell these in pubs....salty goodness with beer... Also very fond of Biltong... Thats what i was referring to when I said jerky. It is slightly different in that Biltong is one large pices of emat cured and dried but its the best! I have a factory about 10 mins from my house that makes Biltong and also biltong stokies! http://www.proteafoods.com/

The question is, do you prefer wet or dry?
MIKA27 Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 Looks like nice stuff from Protea, I think they export some stuff to the UK too. The question is, do you prefer wet or dry? Well the stokies are completely dry and I tend to grab a whole canister of these whilst the Bilton is about 75% dry with a slight bit of moisture within. BUT, It tends to completely dry after a few days in the pantry. I kind of like that little bit of reddness in the middle of the meat myself.
Michel1968 Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 Sometimes some take-away Sushi, mostly olives and cheeses, the latter with some 'paté de quince'. Lovely!
Fuzz Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 Anything I have two tapeworms that need feeding That's no way to speak about your co-workers!

I'm told the correct way to eat it is bone dry, and chew it for hours.. For me, I like it like a raw steak. hmmmm salty meaty goodness...
sblevit Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 I usually reach for jerkey, peppered or spicy. Don't like the sticky variety.
Hopperb Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 Oreo Cookies, covered in Peanut Butter and dipped in milk. PHENOMENAL!
SCgarman Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 Extra hot homemade Buffalo wings with celery and blue cheese dip and an icy cold bottle of German beer.
