victorgkw Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 Hi, Saw this video today and I am truly touched - yet again by the loyalty of man's best friend. I do have my doubts on Heidi (seen later in the video) but nonetheless this still remains as a good story. http://www.youtube.com/watch?annotation_id=annotation_179423&feature=iv&src_vid=ljTj7nRwq-E&v=-BO5w89gzWw http://www.youtube.com/watch?annotation_id=annotation_713437&feature=iv&src_vid=ljTj7nRwq-E&v=0Msukmx_xXg
mazolaman Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 It is touching the way our pets care about us, and the way we care for them...but Heidi is I think....
smll2 Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 This is a great story that speaks to the greatness of man's best friend. We dog owners are blessed to have the opportunity to love our dog/dogs. With our love these mongrels give there love back to us with every ounce of dna they can muster. Dogs IMO are heaven on earth... Tom
noreaster Posted March 29, 2012 Posted March 29, 2012 Very touching indeed..reminds me of another famous Japanese dog with an equally sad tale...ever hear of the story of "Hachido"? Richard Gere recently produced and starred in a re-creation of the story in a movie I forget the name of...after seeing it I wasn't right for a week..

The name of that show was Hachiko, it was a story about how the dog waited for its owner at the same train station at the same time.. What a story, it affected me so much. Thanks to clips and movies like this, I hope it serves as an eye opener to abusers, etc to stop whatever cruelty out there.
PigFish Posted March 29, 2012 Posted March 29, 2012 The curious thing about dogs is this. Of the perhaps 100's of millions of them worldwide, we all agree on which one the best one is... and that is our own!!! This is my "Trashy," on guard so those "wabbits" don't eat her lawn! -LOL

Warren Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 It is touching the way our pets care about us, and the way we care for them...but Heidi is I think.... I have to agree with you, Heidi is more full of shite than a grub. When I watched the video all I saw was a beautiful old dog that was so riddled with arthritis that it could no longer stand let alone walk. It probably lived every day in pain. There comes a time when we as animal lovers have to make the final decision for our pets that as much as we love them we also need to do the kind thing and let them go. Just yesterday our friends down the road had to do just that. They had an old Lab named Maggy, she was having trouble walking because of arthritis and she also had a bit of cancer. In most cases they don't just go down the back yard and pass away quietly, they can linger on in pain for quite some time and that's when we have to be brave and help them. I actually found this video disturbing.
