CaptainQuintero Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 So I was talking to a guy who just got back form Cuba on a Hunters and Frankau sponsored trip for UK retailers and he was told that apparently there is a new marca in the works to celebrate Hector Luiz Diaz who is a tobacco farmer on the same level as Don Robaina. No mention on release etc just a little tip and a nod.
tmac77 Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 interesting stuff QC I wonder if it will replace the rumored demise of the Trinidad line.
Cohiba Stevie Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 What? Trinidads are being rubbed out? I sincerely hope not.
khomeinist Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 interesting stuff QC I wonder if it will replace the rumored demise of the Trinidad line. I have my doubts about this rumor....
maverickdrinker Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 I've heard this romour a few times on the Trinidad marca being discontinued. I hope that it is false as well. Intreresting that Habanos is thinking about a new marca, seeing that they are discontinuing a variety of vitolas from a number of marcas. Oh well. What can you say except that's Cuba for you.
aavkk Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 Thanks for the info CQ. Hmm, I hope the cigars in this new brand are long enough to don the 6 bands they will undoubtedly come with. Perhaps some sort of neon flashing box. I would bet my entire shelf of 10 year old LGC's there wont be a wheel of 50 naked PC's in sight.
zathan Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 Interesting although I would hate to see Trini get the boot.
partifan Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 Maybe they will take a marketing lesson from Gurkha, giant bands and boxes that are good jewelry box substitutes.
randomhero1090 Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 Maybe they will take a marketing lesson from Gurkha, giant bands and boxes that are good jewelry box substitutes. Or Patel...or Viaje.
dan5974 Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 Well put. Probably some real fatties in the future as well. The smallest size will be a 7 X 70.
