This is the second El Dorado rum review & today I’m going to be looking at the 6 year old white rum, first off the bat very nice bottle with the frosted glass. I’ve never really wanted to taste a white El Dorado rum before because why have a filtered style white rum when you can have the 12yr old 15 yr old with all the original flavour but anyways here it is Salute.

The Pour & Glass

The Smell & Top Note The top notes on this rum is at first the run around alcohol, the second time around and putting my nose a little further away I get sugar cane, banana, and mangos I swirl this rum around in this glass and its got Stacy Keibler style legs going on.(sorry hard to see legs with iphone cam lol)

Taste

First thing that hits my pallet is the sugar cane then a strong taste of mangos and bananas comes into play. The alcohol taste is in the backend by surprisingly it is nulled out by a very smooth coconut creamy taste which I found very pleasant; once again this El Dorado is very oily coating my whole mouth.

Big surprise if the lack of after burn and taste this is as smooth as a white rum gets there is a very tiny spice burn in your throat but that expected you are drinking alcohol LOL.

Now I dropped a piece of ice in it wow did it do a 360 flavour change the ice really brings out the sweetness and strong taste of pineapple/fruits comes up.

Overall

Overall this is a very drinkable rum neat, it dam near dangerous because it is so smooth. This is a bartenders dream mixing rum with all its sugar and fruit flavours. For my Vodka and Jin drinks out there I’ve seen some post recently on the forums, taste this rum it would appeal to you guys.

At the end of the day this is a great white rum one of the betters I’ve tasted edging out white Havana Club rum which I find too much alcohol burn and after taste which ruins my plate and cigar. Where this drinks sets its self apart is its smoothness and strong tropical flavours.

That being said this retails for 35.99 at LCBO which is a reasonable price if you’re looking for a white rum but for me personally at 35.99 El Dorado12 year old is spades any time any place but then again its of my #1 favourite rum to drink. If you’re looking for something tropical tasting this is it, this is the rum you take to the beach for you, your boyz & your girlfriend friends. You’ll enjoy slamming it down too, girls will love this because there are nice fruit flavours in it and goes down smooth as hell without the strong alcohol taste, this is your ultimate “closer” for your girl or the girls you are with LOL.

Defiantly be taking this to the beach this summer, Thanks again for reading and once again 21yr, and lastly 25yr old coming soon. :spotlight:
